Volunteer

Learn how you can get involved with WUCT as a volunteer!

Why volunteer?

Washington University Chemistry Tournament is an annual high school competition hosted by WUSTL, or better known by its students as WashU. Since WUCT is completely student-run, volunteers are crucial for a successful competition and for giving competitors and coaches an enjoyable experience.

What do volunteers do?

We offer a variety of roles and times with flexible scheduling. Our shifts are typically 2 to 3 hours in length, and some jobs include proctoring exams, grading, setting and cleaning-up, and leading student activities. As a volunteer, you will receive a WUCT T-shirt and breakfast and/or lunch. You will interact with high school students, and play an integral role in shaping our competition.

How do I sign up to volunteer?

We will be having Informational Sessions on 3/24 (Sun) at 2PM in DUC 276 and 3/25 (Mon) at 7PM in DUC 234 to explain the volunteer responsibilities and shifts. Attendance is not required. If you are new to WUCT, you will be able to hear the opportunities we offer during the Info Sessions.

The volunteer schedule will be distributed at Training Sessions the weekend before WUCT. Please note that it is mandatory for competition day volunteers to attend one of these Training Sessions. These training sessions are crucial to your understanding of what roles you would need to perform during your shift. (If you cannot attend the Training Sessions, please contact us to set up an alternative training time.)

Training Sessions will be held 3/31 (Sun) at 2PM in DUC 276 and 4/2 (Tues) at 7PM in DUC 234.
