We are located on the Danforth Campus and there is parking available. Volunteers will be present to assist teams in finding parking spots. Teams often use taxi to arrive to check-in; if so, direct the driver to Danforth University Center.
The closest airport to WashU is Lambert International Airport in St. Louis. Teams can drive from Lambert to WashU in approximately 20 minutes; otherwise, teams can use the Metrolink train.
Teams can take Amtrak from Chicago and other cities to St. Louis. Teams can use the Metrolink to travel between the airport, hotel and campus. The Big Bend Station and Skinker Station are the nearest to WUSTL.
Upon a team’s registration, we will provide a list of lodging options near our campus and discounted prices for participating WUCT teams. However, we will not be paying for the associated costs.
With limited funds from team registration fees and our sponsors, WUCT is able to cover the costs of lanyards, t-shirts, breakfast and lunch to all participants, but not travel or lodging costs.
We believe that all teams that are interested in competing in WUCT should be able to participate in the tournament regardless of their school’s location or financial situation. While our team works extensively to fundraise for travel funds, we are currently unable to provide full funding for travel and lodging costs requested by all schools in need. Beginning 2018, WUCT will attempt to provide partial aid to faraway teams that demonstrate financial need.
Waivers are granted upon request. WUCT will approve of waivers for schools that serve areas of low socioeconomic status a means of reducing participation costs. Please refer to the Contact tab after registration to email our team. We will send your decision on your waiver request within 48 hours.
Teams that previously have paid their registration fees are expected to be able to do so again.
For teams of schools that are beyond the Midwest area/along the coast and serve rural areas or areas of low socioeconomic status, WUCT may be able to provide a fee waiver and travel/lodging subsidies up to $1,500.
Please note that teams that have been able to participate previously and teams that have received a financial aid package in the past will be ineligible for this limited funding. Schools that are able to provide some travel/lodging funds are prioritized over schools that are unable to provide any funds for the team.
If a team believes they would be eligible for this funding, please email us as soon as possible for the Travel Fund forms. The Budget & Fundraising Committee will provide information on how to apply after collecting information about cheapest travel and hotel costs. All schools who are interested in receiving aid will need to have all the paperwork in by December 15th, 2018. Decisions are made starting in December until January 1st, 2019.
If you or your organization would like to sponsor a particular team, please contact the WUCT team through the Contact page or via direct email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
