Before proceeding, please read the “Event Info” section for eligibility questions regarding students and teams. Please note that there have been some changes to the rules this year due to questions, comments, and concerns. Only one registration form should be submitted per team. The registration fees for 2019 are listed below. Payments should not be made until your team has been approved by us via email after your registration.
Regular registration deadline is February 1st, 2019. The standard registration fee is $60 per team.
Late registration deadline is March 1st, 2019. There will be a late registration fee of $85 per team.
For the 2019 tournament, only the first 50 teams who register with completed information will be guaranteed spaces in the competition. Teams that register after the 50 spots have been filled will be placed on a waiting list. If space opens up, teams will be immediately informed based on their spot on the waiting list.
Teams must have all student information completed by February 1st, 2019 to be recognized by the regular registration deadline or by March 1st, 2019 to be recognized by the late registration deadline. Student information may be modified up through March 15th, 2019 though. For any changes past this date, please contact the WUCT team as soon as possible.
Along with donations from sponsors, WUCT uses funds to provide breakfast, lunch, and snacks on the day of the competition. All participants will receive a lanyard and t-shirt as well.
Refunds for the registration fee are possible upon request. Please note that registration fee refunds will not be possible after March 1st, 2019.
After you have received an email confirmation for attending WUCT, you may pay online (strongly recommended) via Cashnet, which will be accessed through the registration portal. Alternatively, you may pay with cash or check (payable to “Washington University in St. Louis Chemistry Tournament”), mailed to:
WUCT, Chemistry Department Campus Box 1134
1 Brookings Dr
St. Louis, MO 63130
All checks must be postmarked by February 1st, 2019. Late registration checks must be postmarked by March 1st, 2019. If your schools requires an invoice from our organization in order to send a payment, please contact us.
If a registered team does not pay before the deadline, we may replace the non-paying team with a team on the waitlist. If a team pays its fees and must withdraw, we will give a full refund, so long as we are notified of the withdrawal by March 1st, 2019. We will not offer refunds to teams that withdraw after that date.
Please give 1-2 weeks for the portal to update with turned in forms and fees. If you have noticed that the status of your registration has not changed, please contact us.
Yes, a full team will consist of six students and one adult coach. The adult coach can either be a teacher or parent but should preferably a teacher. We will be hosting faculty-led workshops on competition day to discuss effective strategies and resources for educators that focus on establishing critical thinking and collaboration in their own classrooms. Teams without any adult coach will be ineligible for the tournament.
